At its first Board Meeting this year, the Executive Board approved the use of NASFAA CORE materials with the idea of promoting the NASFAA Credentials training to our membership.  The New Aid Officers track is designed for members new to the profession while the Intermediate Officers track focuses on members with five or less years in the profession.  Elizabeth Milam of Clemson University is working with an outstanding group of trainers to provide the best possible training to SCASFAA.  Additional information will be made available in the coming weeks as well as registration details.

In an exciting partnership with NASFAA, we are offering you the opportunity to earn professional credentials as part of SCASFAA’s professional development. NASFAA University offers a nationally-recognized, consistent, and rigorous program of education in administering the Title IV student financial aid programs. We are pleased to announce that SCASFAA’s New Aid Officers’ Workshop is an approved NASFAA University institute. Participants will have the opportunity to earn a NASFAA Credential by sitting for the credentialing exam at no additional charge. This represents a significant savings as online classes offered by NASFAA University are $299 to $499.

The beginner’s track will cover the application process and the expected family contribution. Participants will have the opportunity to earn a NASFAA Credential in Federal Methodology.

The intermediate track will cover the withdrawal process and the calculation and return of federal funds. Participants will have the opportunity to earn a NASFAA Credential in Return of Title IV.

REGISTRATION CLOSES JANUARY 14TH!
