2026 SASFAA New Aid Officer Workshop Scholarship Application

Named in honor of SCASFAA Founding Member, Dr. Charles Witten, certain monies from the Dr. Witten Professional Development Scholarship Fund shall be made available for the SCASFAA Executive Board to solicit applications to cover the registration fee to send one or two SCASFAA member(s) to the annual New Aid Officers Workshop held by the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA).

The 2026 SASFAA New Aid Officers Workshop will be held June 14 - 19, 2026, at Thomas Moore University in Crestview Hills, KY.  Information regarding the 2026 SASFAA New Aid Officers Workshop can be found on SASFAA's website.

Interested applicants will have until 5:00PM on Friday, April 24th to complete this application.  The Executive Board will meet to discuss and select the scholarship recipient at the April Board Meeting.  All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application.

To be considered for this Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Be a current, active member of SCASFAA; and,
2. Have five (5) years or less of financial aid experience; and,
3. Have never attended the SASFAA New Aid Officers Workshop; and,
4. Complete this application prior to the stated deadline.

Applicants must also submit a letter of recommendation from their current supervisor or financial aid director, which includes a statement of support to attend this week-long, residential training boot-camp.  Information on how to submit this letter of recommendation is included in the application form.  Incomplete applications may not be considered, so be sure to include all requested information.

Disclaimer: The Dr. Witten Professional Development Fund will only cover the registration fee (including SASFAA membership dues, if applicable) for the SASFAA NAOW; travel costs to and from the workshop and any meals not covered as part of the registration fee are not included with this scholarship.
